Several studies have examined the entrepreneurial ecosystem (EE) in India, but no review has been conducted to date. Thus, this study aims to provide a comprehensive overview of EE research within the Indian context through a systematic literature review (SLR) using the TCCM (theory, context, characteristics, and methodology) framework. The study examines 85 articles published between 2010 and 2024, sourced from the Scopus database, by adopting the PRISMA framework. The findings highlight that Indian EE research is dominated by quantitative methods, concentrated in Bangalore and Delhi, and extensively covers the technology and education sectors, with the Resource-Based View as the leading theory. This study identifies 11 EE components across sectors and proposes a comprehensive EE framework that integrates them, addresses regional disparities, and supports a more inclusive and sustainable entrepreneurial ecosystem in India. Additionally, this study offers several directions for future research and implications for policymakers and entrepreneurs in the Indian context.
